Christmas Craft

Looking for an easy holiday craft to do with your kids? Try out these recipes for homemade Christmas ornaments. I used the Recipe #1 there are three on the website.

Recipe #1
Adapted from this website http://www.handmadecountry.com/ezine/cinnamon.html

1/2- 1 cup cinnamon  (I used 1 cup)
1/2 – 1 cup applesauce (homemade sauce will likely be too watery) ( I used 1 cup)
**Using one cup made about 7 ornaments both big and small. See my picture above. We also added glitter to our to make our ornaments sparkley.
Directions:
Stir together ingredients until stiff and then roll into a ball with your hands.
Using waxed paper, flatten slightly with your fingers. Place your second sheet of waxed paper over the top of the dough and roll out dough being careful not to make the dough too thin. Use cookie cutters to make your ornaments. If the dough is too thin then you will not be able to get the dough off of the wax paper without breaking your shape.
Air dry for at least 24 hours until they are hard.
** I placed on a cookie cooling rack to ensure they dried evenly on both sides***

Happy crafting
