Red, White and Blue Cupcakes: Happy Independence Day

I know it’s late for a post, but I wanted the kids to help me with these cupcakes and they wanted to make them after dinner. So here we are. We spent the better half of the afternoon learning about why we celebrate Independence day, coloring free color pages, working on word puzzles and then it was supper time. We couldn’t wait to make these cupcakes! Super festive for this weekend!

Since, it’s a Friday night, this is about all the small talk you are going to get from me. Let’s get to it 🙂

What you need:

Cake mix, red & blue food coloring

Mix it according to the box.

Separate your batter equally into 3 bowls.

Mix your blue food coloring into one bowl.

Now do the red.

Give your child the rest of the batter to eat while you do the hard part 🙂

Pour the blue in first.

Then the plain batter on top of that.

Now the red.

I need a new muffin pan!

Alright, bake it according to the box and turn the oven light on for the kids.

Once they are done, cool them.

Then go for it- no icing needed.

That’s all folks! Enjoy the 4th. You won’t hear from me until later next week!
