Homeschooling: Music lesson

I keep up with Frugal Fun for Boys. One of my favorite homeschooling blogs. She did a lesson about Handel’s Messiah. We have been in the Christmas mode since before Thanksgiving so I instantly loved this lesson. We listened to the Hallelujah Chorus a few times. We also listened to Music for the Royal Fireworks. The kids picked out the keetledrum in that piece.

After learning and talking about Handel and the Messiah, I gave Thing one a large piece of freezer paper and told her to draw something inspired by the song. She drew this.

The three kings on a camel with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus in a barn on the right. At the top is an angel. Sweet times and memories made today. Just in case I haven’t told you in a while, I love homeschooling the Things.

Here is the video we watched.
